Broccoli Oriental

Ingredients

1 lb broccoli (cut up) or 10 oz package frozen broccoli
1/2 cup sliced water chestnuts
1 Tbs butter
4 tsp soy sauce
dash ground red pepper

Procedure

  1. In a medium saucepan, cook fresh broccoli and water chestnuts, covered, in a small amount of boiling water for 9 to 11 minutes, or till crisp-tender. (If using frozen broccoli, cook with water chestnuts according to package directions). Drain; transfer to a bowl and keep warm.
  2. In the same saucepan melt butter, stir in soy sauce and red pepper. Heat through. Pour over broccoli.

Serves 4. Per Serving: Calories 67; Calories from fat 29(43%); Fat 3g; Carbohydrates 8g; Sugar .5g; Fiber .5g; Protein 4g
